Program Description:

Join Cassia Rivera as she presents her trek across the state of North Carolina via the Mountains-to-Sea Trail to raise awareness for the need to increase habitat connectivity statewide. Through photography and film, enjoy learning about her story from the trail and why North Carolina's natural world is worthy of protection and connection from the Coastal Plain, through the Piedmont, and into our Mountainous region!

Bio:

Cassia is a Wildlife Conservationist, Visual Storyteller, and founder of the North Carolina Wildlife Corridor. She is passionate about using photography, film, education, and outreach as the four pillars of her conservation work. She collaborates with NGOs, agencies, and other conservationists on statewide habitat connectivity initiatives in North Carolina. To raise awareness for the need to increase habitat connectivity across our state, she recently completed her expedition project, Trek for Connectivity. During this project, she traversed North Carolina via the Mountains-to-Sea Trail to document the beauty of our natural world and the challenges our wildlife and habitats face. In addition to her work within habitat connectivity, she advocates for critically endangered Red Wolves through a coalition supporting the Red Wolf Recovery Program and continues working with partners to advance education and outreach initiatives for these majestic animals across the state and nationwide.
