White Street Landfill Field Trip –
Rescheduled Saturday, Feb. 24

 
After being postponed a couple of times due to foul winter weather, the field trip for the White St. Landfill is now back on the docket!
Please notify Carolyn Allen or Lynn Moseley with your interest in participating.
 The trip leader makes special arrangements for our birding group to enter this Greensboro facility where in past winters we have noted several species of sparrows, raptors, ducks, and other interesting birds. Call the leader for details. This is a joint activity with the Piedmont Bird Club.
 
Parking and Carpooling: Meet in the parking lot of the Congregational United Church of Christ, 400 W. Radiance Drive, Greensboro 27403 at 8:30 a.m .to carpool. This is important so that our birding group’s cars will not interfere with trucks that are regularly at the landfill.
 
Time: 8:30 a.m. carpool; 9:00 a.m. start from the White Street Landfill office
 
Duration: Till about noon.
 
Habitat: Grass-covered landfill areas, ponds, creeks, mature mixed forest
 
Difficulty rating: 1; Mostly cruising in cars with short walks where necessary
 
Provisions needed: Drinks and snacks
 
Cancellation: City may cancel this trip under certain circumstances. Cancels with inclement weather. Contact the leader.
