Field Trip: Green Swamp
In the southeastern corner
of North Carolina, the Nature Conservancy’s Green Swamp Preserve is a longleaf
pine savannah home to orchids, insectivorous plants, alligators, fox squirrels,
Henslow’s and Bachman’s sparrows, and Red-cockaded Woodpeckers. Join Audubon as
we explore this rich habitat, so different from the hardwood forests of
