The BioBlitz at Price Park
BioBlitz Flyer - for schedule
of the day
Reserve Saturday, May 15th, on
your calendars for the BioBlitz at Price Park – a day of fun, education and
science.
A BioBlitz is a 24 hour event to see how many species can be identified in a
given spot. We’ve chosen as “our spot,” Greensboro’s Price Park, with its rich
variety of habitats, from hardwood forest and meadows, to its meandering stream
and adjacent lake.

Come in the evening to identify frogs, bats and
moths, or join daytime walks with herpetologists, lepidopterists,
ornithologists, and botanists as we look under every rock and every leaf to
discover the wealth of nature, right here in our Piedmont backyard.
We will kick off our BioBlitz on Earth Day, with a children’s activity called
KidzBlitz. (KidzBlitz will be part of the Earth Day Celebration in Price Park on
April 10th.)
We will need volunteers for both events – people to staff booths, assist with
groups, and get us set up and torn down. If you have an interest in helping out,
please contact Craig Lawrence at craig.carolina@gmail.com or Dennis Burnette at
deburnette@triad.rr.com
Watch the web site and Nature Notes for more details on the KidzBlitz and the
BioBlitz! The photos below are more
examples of fauna and flora, all taken at Price Park. Click on each image for a
